Management Accounting Lead
Job Title: Management Accounting Lead
Reports To: Deputy Head of Finance
This position requires the successful applicant to be based from our Livingston, Scotland office a minimum of two days per week.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading the timely preparation, production, and critical review of monthly management accounts
- Partnering with senior managers across the business to challenge variances and drive financial accountability
- Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Continuously refine and improve accounting processes in our fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Collaborate closely with US corporate accounting and audit teams to ensure smooth month-end closes and ongoing SOX compliance
- Sponsor and help drive systems developments and key finance projects
- Lead and develop a team of 3 management accountants, ensuring delivery of accurate reporting and actionable insights
The Candidate
- A fully qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant with a proven track record of leading finance teams
- Sharp stakeholder management skills — you build relationships quickly and influence with confidence
- Strong technical expertise in Excel and financial systems. Experience with Unit4 Agresso and a background in retail are desirable, but not essential
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for driving continuous improvement
