Management Accounting Lead

Job Title: Management Accounting Lead

Reports To: Deputy Head of Finance

This position requires the successful applicant to be based from our Livingston, Scotland office a minimum of two days per week.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Leading the timely preparation, production, and critical review of monthly management accounts

• Partnering with senior managers across the business to challenge variances and drive financial accountability

• Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity

• Continuously refine and improve accounting processes in our fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Collaborate closely with US corporate accounting and audit teams to ensure smooth month-end closes and ongoing SOX compliance

• Sponsor and help drive systems developments and key finance projects

• Lead and develop a team of 3 management accountants, ensuring delivery of accurate reporting and actionable insights

The Candidate

• A fully qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant with a proven track record of leading finance teams
• Sharp stakeholder management skills — you build relationships quickly and influence with confidence
• Strong technical expertise in Excel and financial systems. Experience with Unit4 Agresso and a background in retail are desirable, but not essential
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for driving continuous improvement
